We build computer vision that has to work in the real world.
Ventral AI is a small, Croatia-based team focused on production-grade detection and vision-language systems. We work with operators who need cameras to answer a specific question — reliably, under real conditions, at the edge or in the cloud.
Our mission
Turn camera feeds into operational decisions.
Most organisations already have cameras. Far fewer have a reliable way to act on what those cameras see. We build the models, pipelines, and review tools that close that gap — from detectors running on industrial lines to vision-language systems that read a scene the way an operator would.
We work across waste management, traffic and highway safety, retail and furniture, industrial QA, and real-time video intelligence. The common thread is the same: a real workflow, a real camera, and a decision that needs to happen faster or more consistently than a person can make it.
How we work
Four principles that shape every project.
These aren’t marketing copy. They’re the rules we argue about internally when a trade-off needs making.
Deployed beats novel.
We'd rather ship a well-tuned detector running on a roadside camera than a novel architecture that never leaves a notebook. Research taste, engineering pragmatism.
Real conditions, real metrics.
Rain, glare, bad uplinks, occlusion — we evaluate on the footage our customers actually have, not on sanitised benchmarks. If a number moves in the lab but not in the field, it doesn't count.
Small team, end-to-end.
From CUDA kernels to dashboards, every engineer touches more than one layer. It keeps decisions fast and keeps the system honest.
Security is a prerequisite.
Cameras watch sensitive spaces. We treat security and privacy as a baseline, not a feature — SOC 2 Type II is in progress with Secureframe and GDPR is built into the way we handle data.
Where we are
Built in Croatia, used across Europe.
We’re headquartered on the Adriatic coast and operate as part of the NVIDIA Inception Program. Our deployments run on a mix of on-prem edge hardware and cloud GPUs — whichever the workload and the customer’s data-residency needs call for.
We’re small on purpose. Every engagement gets attention from someone who has built, shipped, and operated these systems before — not a layer of account managers in between.
